What are mulch tubes?
Mulch filled netting is used to replace silt fence and erosion check dams. This is the most exciting advancement in erosion control. This is a Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) approved method.
Benefits: • More effective than silt fences. (They actually work!)
• Low maintenance.
• Can be temporary or permanent.
• More attractive than silt fences.
We fill netting with mulch (much like inserting sausage meat into a casing) which creates low-profile erosion control fencing. The tubes can also be filled with compost for a permanent vegetative barrier and filter.
